Postpartum services to prepare you for and help you through the ups and downs of life with a newborn
So, you’re having a baby soon and you know you’re going to need help.
Maybe work or school has led you far from home, so family and friends who’d normally be there to guide you through all this you just aren’t around.
Or you’ve been through this before, it was HARD, and you want this time to be different. You can feel the anxiety creeping up and you want to get a handle on “things” before it all starts to feel too out of control.
Or maybe you just have this vague idea that you’re going to need help in postpartum, but you don’t really know what that means exactly.
Here’s how I can help…

* 1 copy of the Build Your Nest Workbook, to be used both independently and collaboratively during planning sessions
* 1 2-hour in-person prenatal planning session
OR
* 2 1-hour virtual prenatal planning sessions

* Ongoing postpartum services from birth through at least 3 months postpartum
Postpartum Navigation
As your postpartum navigator, I will help you prepare a thorough but realistic plan now, and walk with you through the challenges of life with a newborn later.
We can’t be prepared for every little thing that might pop up during your postpartum recovery. But parents of newborns encounter some common struggles and choices. Thinking about those ahead of time will make for a smoother transition into this new stage of life. And trust me, these thoughts will come a lot easier now than when you are sleep-deprived and riding the postpartum hormones roller coaster.
Once baby arrives, I will continue to support you (in-person or virtually—your choice!) through regular visits and weekly check-ins. We'll discuss the issues you and your new family are facing, focusing on the physical and emotional health of the family, lactation and feeding, and practical aspects of life.
My role is to listen, guide discussion when you feel stuck, and share relevant resources. I’ll follow-up on ongoing issues to help you keep track of progress and changes (which can be hard to see from inside the newborn fog). My main goal will be to help you find solutions that are best suited for you and your family. You were never meant to do this alone, and so we will do it together.
* 4-6 1 hour in-person postpartum visits
OR
* 2 1-hour in-person postpartum visits, the first within 10 days of birth and the last at the end of care, and 4 1-hour virtual visits
* Weekly check-ins via text, call, or email
* Additional support whenever needed via text, call, or email during business hours
Benefits
01
Relieve the overwhelm of trying to do it all yourself, whether that’s sorting through what a postpartum plan should cover or working through challenges once baby arrives.
02
Make space for connection with your new family by reducing the anxiety that’s sucking up all your energy.
03
Build a network of support from the community around you, one that you can lean into for years to come.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS
Getting started with my postpartum services
-
We start with a free consultation—this gives us a chance to get to know each other a bit and make sure we’re a good fit. There’s absolutely no obligation at this point. You can request a consult by filling out this short form right here.
-
If all systems are go after our consult, we’ll sign a basic contract, I’ll email you an intake form and drop your welcome packet in the mail. The welcome packet will include your copy of the Build Your Nest Workbook. Then we start planning!
-
We’ll schedule our planning session for a time that works for both of us and, preferably, your partner, if you have one. You get to decide if virtual or in-person works best. You’ll handle some of the workbook pages on your own, but we’ll work through the stickiest spots together. If needed, we can always schedule additional time to go over any questions or uncertainties you have about the plan.
-
After baby arrives, regular visits and check-ins will start and continue until at least 3 months postpartum. I like to see you in-person within 10 days of birth, and from there, you can decide if you prefer in-person or virtual visits. These visits will be about an hour in length and spread out over the course of your first 3 months postpartum.
You can also expect to hear from me once a week, and we’ll decide together whether that should be by text, call, or email. These weekly check-ins will be shorter and are designed to remind you that you are not alone!
Want a heads up on what to expect in postpartum?
Because I am so, so tired of people not talking about the important stuff, I put together this list of 5 things that surprise people the most when they are in the postpartum period. You also get a recommendation for a book and a podcast for each, so you can dig a little deeper when you’re ready.
How do you know if you need a postpartum navigator?

This isn’t your first baby, and you want to be more prepared this time around
You live here and your family and close friends live…somewhere else
You have family and/or friends around but aren’t quite sure how to ask for help
You’re used to handling everything yourself (but kind of hate it sometimes)
You struggle with anxiety and overwhelm
You feel unsure of what to expect from postpartum
You’re considering a postpartum doula but aren’t sure
You want support but don’t want extra people in your home
You’re not sure how to find and meet other new parents in your area
You’ve Googled “postpartum plan” a dozen times, saved a lot of IG posts, and have no idea where to start
You’re a feminist and you know you deserve this
